Transformers: Prime First Edition to see promised re-release domestically? Don’t hold your breath.

Hasbro still doesn't care for your desire for things.

It’s a really fucking stupid name for the line because it seems to imply that we’ll see more when it’s hard enough to see the first line AT ALL. Also, why a retail toyline needed a preview, FOR A RETAIL TOYLINE, I still don’t understand. I’d expected Hasbro to phone the first wave in entirely with cheap plastic, lousy molds and then repackage them into something else. Sadly, Hasbro followed that dickhead logic to the letter… just in the opposite direction. In one of the… Continue reading →

transformers-generations-bruticus (10)__scaled_800

It looks more and more like G2 Bruticus every time I see the Fall of Cybertron video game Transformers Generation combiner. Bright freakin’ colors, Blast-Off and Vortex are wearing eachother’s colors, Onslaught looks weird and overall the gestalt beast they form looks droopy. I WOULD STILL KILL YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS TO COLLECT ALL OF THE NECESSARY COMPONENTS. Retail setting or otherwise. Seriously. Bare hands. I’ll complain about it, piss, moan and yet I will end you to connect with these toys. Check out… Continue reading →

Transformers: Two Devastating Decepticon Combiners are better than one!

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now there are technically THREE new unofficial Devastators of massive size, scale and detail that neither Hasbro nor Takara have taken the time out to address. Oh, sorry, well they did threaten with lawsuits. Fuck making a better product, they NEED to stop the fanbase from seeing to its own needs ASAP! Ah damn. I didn’t mean to turn this into one of those Hasbro rants, but whatever. Anyway, Maketoys will be releasing a GREEN version of their previously YELLOW “Giant” combiner this… Continue reading →

Transformers Rescue Bots: Parenting in a new age

This is awesome. Liquid nerd oozes from the screen as a father poisons his son’s youth with the awesome Rescue Bots toy line and TV series while they talk about it. And there’s a giant Dinosaur. You might wonder why I make this irrational “nerd” assumption, but any man who owns Masterpiece Grimlock is a nerd worth saluting and this man, despite his peculiar exploitation of a child, is just such a nerd. I hope my kids will be that receptive to my manipulation of… Continue reading →

Transformers: Botcon Artists are on Hasbro’s S@%t-list too!

Hasbro has been on a roll with the Botcon sadness. After the Collector’s Club hack, the generally bad press that followed the announcement to ban 3rd party items at Botcon; there’s been an uncomfortable tension concerning Botcon this year. It just got worse. In order to keep things consistently shitty, Hasbro has announced that they are going to be banning the sale of ANY artwork from anyone who isn’t an artist that collected a paycheck at some point from them or a licensee at some… Continue reading →

The HUB Hits Netflix! Joes, Bots and Ponies! OH MY!

Hasbro spent a lot of money to finally have total control over their brands. They even bought a cable channel in a partnership with Discovery. The primary brands ruling the channel are My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, GI Joe: Renegades and Transformers: Prime. Much as I do and will complain about all the incredibly stupid shit Hasbro does, these shows are magnificent. Aesthetically they may rub you the wrong way, but this is television at its finest and children’s television at a level that… Continue reading →

Transformers: Target Masters “Primed”… for the Asian market only

Target Masters! An awesome aspect of old school transformers where Autobot and Decepticon pistols were also transformers themselves! The squat little robots would bend over as far as they could, pointing their barrel(s) at the enemy while their larger Transformer partner would grip some dubious peg upon the gunbot tightly and spray hot, uh, DEATH all over their foes! Well, okay to be honest it’s less creepy than I make it sound and technically the guns were alien cyborgs (like Headmasters and Powermasters), but in… Continue reading →

Transformers Kre-O: Megatron’s Revenge & Kre-O Review

Well, if the rest of the internet is going to slap up a commercial and talk about it, I sure might as well join in. So, Kre-O is awesome as you can tell by the wondrous commerical above. I actually posted about Kre-O awhile back, but my enthusiasm was dampened by the fact that I was poor and had no money to acquire additional Kre-O sets. What I can tell you about them is that they are insanely fun, beautifully poseable and the little “kreons”… Continue reading →

Transformers: Hasbro keeps forgetting that they WANT money

(Season 2 kicks off with Optimus Prime getting a serious cosmetic change. You NEED to be watching this show.) Some companies don’t seem to understand how supply and demand works. Especially companies not accustomed to consistent success that is practically miraculous, if not totally accidental. After the cut, I’m gonna point out some problems with the new Captain of Hasbro’s flagship product: Transformers:Prime.

TF Club Runabout/Over-Run, the tease that encourages obsession!

In a recent tweet, FunPub have taken to embellishing the exaggerated personalities of the Battlechargers in a fashion meant to make Over-Run/Runabout more desirable. They have often been referred to as the “Beavis & Butthead” of the ‘Con forces as they gallivant about the cosmos painting the asses of robot cats, playing gags with lethal explosives, mocking other Transformers (as shown above) and otherwise turning the normally simple act of screwing around into an art form. I’m pleased that they went the extra mile, but… Continue reading →
