WOW. Just WOW. The Avengers was amazing and pulled off precisely what this comic-to-film transition need, some damn fine continuity with the intelligent awareness that the film itself was meant to encapsulate something bigger while being its own unique story at the same time. It’s probably the finest comic film ever made, hands down. Sorry Purplemonkeydishwasher, it’s just a fact. They took some damn good Marvel flicks released them with a plan for something bigger and it worked. Meanwhile at DC, Superman is getting another… Continue reading →

In the Dark of Knight… It Tumbles!
I would much rather have minimates, but thanks to the madness that is licensing leads to Mezco leading the cute charge back into the new Tumbler vehicle for Dark Knight Rises with Batman & Bane. Or the spare Tumbler. Whatever. I dunno. Until Batman hits theaters I know as much as you do. Unless you’re Batman… Anyway, it’s awesome and cute and stuff. By stuff I mean AWESOME and by cute I hope you’re noticing the trickle of bat-blood dribbling out of the bat-side of… Continue reading →
Justice League: DOOM – Batman reminds you to log out for security reasons!
Justice League: Doom is another in the line of “Why the hell not?” series of animated movies by DC drawing from a lot of better known comic and TV elements, primarily the lauded “Legion of Doom” from SuperFriends and the comparatively recent snafus wherein Batman forgot to lock his batcave, update Norton or stepped out to the Bat Potty as another party enters and downloads his “How to Defeat My Allies – By Batman” novella he had been writing. This theft leads to attempts on… Continue reading →
Cartoon Network cancels Thundercats?!?
After an abrupt departure, the series finally came back onto Cartoon Network recently. The series pulls less punches than before with the introduction of Mumm-ra’s new generals whose implied murders and wanton violence are as disturbing as they are awesome. The story remains on course as a brilliant recreation of the original story with a harder edge with only its path to closure in question. Sadly, CN has unveiled its offerings for next year in a press release and Thundercats was decidedly absent. The dubious… Continue reading →
XBLA Gotham City IMPOSTORS: A brilliant ripoff of some great ideas
Everybody loves Batman. Even if you THINK you don’t love Batman, you adore the living hell out of Batman. It’s a fact. Time Warner was aware of this when they tapped Monolith, the guys behind No One Lives Forever and a whole bunch of other fun things (not the guys who Made Xenogears/Xenosaga). They also ripped off a couple of really good ideas from shooters like Call of Duty, but they mostly took from Team Fortress 2 with both hands. Everything from the cartoony aesthetics,… Continue reading →
Batman: Arkham World?
This delightful bout of rumor mongering comes as a result of a chat with my good friend and occasional contributor, Emperor Joker. The Arkham Batman games have been amazing and we’re already salivating with hopes and dreams for ANOTHER Batman title from Rocksteady while the second game has only been out for a few months! During the Spike Video Game Awards, an event I prefer to avoid due to it making me feel like mainstream media has no fucking clue who gamers are, they awarded… Continue reading →

Batman: Arkham City – A Snippetizzle Of an Opinion
(ZP makes his gripes about Arkham Asylum. It sounds forced as he tries to soldier through the otherwise most awesome licensed thing ever made… Until Arkham City landed. I am fond of the punch/spray crack at the end.) Yeah, well… I picked up the “What the Hell’s your Damn Problem?!” Edition earlier this week. It came with so much shit… I’m still unsure what to do with it all. Just amazing. I have to confess that I haven’t played it as much as I would… Continue reading →
The End of the Brave and Bold Makes Me Sad and Mopey
I don’t know how I missed this news but it turns out that at Comic Con 2010, it was announced that Season 3 of Batman: the Brave and the Bold would be its last. I was deeply saddened by this terrible news. I love this show and have loved it from the moment I laid eyes on it. Sure, it was very lighthearted and goofy at times, but in essence that was an integral part of its appeal. It was an animated love letter to… Continue reading →
Sony: Congress, Batman and Anonymous! Oh… my?
To say this has gotten weird does little justice to the circumstance. But hey, all these new victims can line up for free “Batman-Inspired” Cowls, right? As Sony tries to fan attention towards the swift gazelles that comprise Anonymous, the various predatory international Government entities circle Sony like a plump cow with a sprained ankle. After nipping at Sony’s ankles to drop the beast safely on the firm ground the feasting in the form of fines, seizure and compensation will be ripped from the MegaCorp’s… Continue reading →
