Sony: The PS3 steps up the video streaming war!

Sony-LOGO

So… This is old news, but it’s news worth repeating and further discussing because of what it represents for the future. Mostly consider it late breaking update. Or something. Awhile back, Amazon successfully put its fancy streaming stuff on Sony’s console to a shockingly excitable reception. I watched my Twitter feeds go ablaze with people happily dropping Netflix out of their lives entirely; their jubilation mixed thoroughly with poisonous spite after enduring Netflix’s consistent bungles, hiccups and… “Qwikster”. Having given it a spin, I can… Continue reading →

PlayStation Vita: Miyamoto lays down the shit-talk on Sony’s portable!

He didn't do it! Nobody saw him do it! You can't prove anything!

Alright, so he’s not REALLY shit-talking. In fact, he’s offering some pretty good advice, but knowing Sony it’s not going to stick. They are impervious to wisdom. Shigeru Miyamoto points out that Vita is just missing a reason to visit the device in the first place. Knock offs of console games aren’t going to cut it and without anything to really put the hardware to the test there’s nothing in the library to effectively sell the product. He even goes so far as to talk… Continue reading →

Skyrim: Finally, the shouts feel real with KINECT!

Skyrim-Wallpapers-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-27742162-1920-1200

You still enjoying Skyrim? Like getting smashed by giants? I can’t find the focus to keep progressing through the game since I’m having so much fun screwing the hell around. Trotting around on my steed until a dragon shows up to wreck my shit sort of defines my fun with the game, much like stealing a bus in Grand Theft Auto and driving down the crowded sidewalks. Bethesda has released a Kinect update for Skyrim so your shouts are officially more “shout-y” than anywhere else.… Continue reading →

Mass Effect 3: Gettin’ Trolled for Hatin’ the Ending

Look, I should level with you folks, this has been happening for awhile now and I should really address it before it becomes any more… exotic. Tekyu in a Jar gets trolled because I don’t care for the ending to Mass Effect 3 because it fucking ruins the following: the entire franchise, my former respect for Bioware and any shred of happiness in my soul making me want to dive under a bus because the ending was THAT bad. Be warned, Spoilers Ahead! I don’t… Continue reading →

Eyefinity (And you can, too!)

Just what is Eyefinity ™ ?! Well, It’s essentially AMD’s way of referring to it’s output configuration for allowing 3 (or more!) monitors to display a concurrent image. Ideally, it’s a standard that manufacturers and software developers can abide by to help create a definitive structure and system that you (Yes you, Mr. Consumer) can use to gain a more.. peripherally complete experience  to what you do on your computer. “Peripherals?! Why, aren’t those my eyeball viewing contraption things I use to hold up my… Continue reading →

Free Games in Playfire’s Contest for Greatest Game?

Remember Playfire? The Facebook for gamers dealie? They’re offering free games, which is kinda cool. Well, they’re pushing a contest and the prizes are free games. Basically, all you need to do is vote for what you consider the best game EVER. Playfire’s been a fun experience for me ranting specifically about games and it allows for fun and interesting connection with fellow gamers. And criminally bad spelling, did I mention the bad spelling cuz’ Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ there is some dreadful violence against the… Continue reading →

Mass Effect 3: Tequila Se’Lai Sundays

Following my previous post, I feel I might as well get it out. Starting with Drunk Tali’Zorah reference is always a good start. The broken, nihilistic and utterly fucked up ending needs to change for Mass Effect 3 and there’s no good reason it really shouldn’t in a day and age where I’m forced to download updates to include peripherals I don’t own. It’s a fucking videogame, first of all, but I can throw out at least six additional reasons why it isn’t a solution… Continue reading →

Screen Team does a Mass Effect 3 video!

(Screen Team doing Mass Effect 3/Blackout) Chad Nikolaus and the always voluptuous Angie Griffin from Youtube’s ScreenTeamShow tend to do tongue in cheek videos parodying two things at once. First they grab a popular song that might mesh with their chosen topic, or just say “Fuck it!” and mash the topic in there; hence, how Usher and Thor came to be a thing. Second, they hammer in a topic that jives with their EXTREME nerding to write lyrics for stuff like Pokemon, Transformers, Batman, etc.… Continue reading →

Saints Row 2: A brief Retrospective… With Poo.

Alright, we NEED to talk about a achievement I was recently awarded: Splatster Chief. It’s an award in Saint’s Row 2 specifically for completing the levels of a side mission called “Septic Avenger”, the series of missions are meant to acquire funds and level-up your respect rating earning you discounts, prestige and other perks. Septic Avenger distinguishes itself from other in-game diversions by being a series of missions based around a rampage in a septic truck where you spray raw sewage to cause damage bringing… Continue reading →

XBLA Double Fine’s Happy Action Theater makes Kinect not suck!

It has been a long, hard road for Kinect to gain respect. A road that continues to be an uphill kind of road. Muddling through crappy bundled games was only half the battle since finding a healthy niche in gaming application hasn’t been quite as impressive as the device being turned into an instant robot head. But I digress, some folks got together and found a way to include a bunch of people in a game that includes a bunch of varied activities that mange… Continue reading →
