DC Comics Films in a Post-Avengers world?

WOW. Just WOW. The Avengers was amazing and pulled off precisely what this comic-to-film transition need, some damn fine continuity with the intelligent awareness that the film itself was meant to encapsulate something bigger while being its own unique story at the same time. It’s probably the finest comic film ever made, hands down. Sorry Purplemonkeydishwasher, it’s just a fact. They took some damn good Marvel flicks released them with a plan for something bigger and it worked. Meanwhile at DC, Superman is getting another… Continue reading →

Transformers: Prime First Edition to see promised re-release domestically? Don’t hold your breath.

Hasbro still doesn't care for your desire for things.

It’s a really fucking stupid name for the line because it seems to imply that we’ll see more when it’s hard enough to see the first line AT ALL. Also, why a retail toyline needed a preview, FOR A RETAIL TOYLINE, I still don’t understand. I’d expected Hasbro to phone the first wave in entirely with cheap plastic, lousy molds and then repackage them into something else. Sadly, Hasbro followed that dickhead logic to the letter… just in the opposite direction. In one of the… Continue reading →

This is a Hug-worthy announcement. Kind of. Hasbro has announced something that holds the potential to break the seething tide of hatred their antics have earned them from folks like myself. And no, it’s not hookers, free camaros or candy. It’s a paid toy subscription! YAY!!! Oh… uh, yay. A collector’s subscription service, where subscribers receive unique Transformers figures regularly as part of the service. Mattel did something similar with MattyCollector, a service that was brutally criticized for its brazen and abusive methods of squeezing… Continue reading →

Transformers: Someone thought it would be cool to make the Throttlebots cool!

Let’s face it, when it comes to Transformers and people ask about big piles of suck from back in the good old days Throttlebots tend to gurgle pretty high up. What are the Throttlebots, you ask? Is this some sort of robot kink thing? No… Not really. Throttlebots were a strong sign of good ideas going downhill and a theme that eventually suffocated the line outside of Japan until Generation 2 and Beast Wars. They showed up in the “rebirth” miniseries that murdered the original… Continue reading →

Spoiler alert! Well… not really, since this hideous fact is being celebrated in plastic immortality… In Transformers: Prime the Autobot known as Cliffjumper dies in the very first episode. Brutally. This has made him crazy popular amongst the fandom and in our sick fetish for dead robots, we have howled for more Cliffjumper stiff in his very dead absence. For a dead dude he gets A LOT of figures, which is strange since we’re still waiting on primary characters in the show to get the… Continue reading →

Mass Effect 3: Tequila Se’Lai Sundays

Following my previous post, I feel I might as well get it out. Starting with Drunk Tali’Zorah reference is always a good start. The broken, nihilistic and utterly fucked up ending needs to change for Mass Effect 3 and there’s no good reason it really shouldn’t in a day and age where I’m forced to download updates to include peripherals I don’t own. It’s a fucking videogame, first of all, but I can throw out at least six additional reasons why it isn’t a solution… Continue reading →

Marvel dumping Avengers: EMH TV series?

Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Iron Man founded a team that rocked the comic world and continue to do so today with a highly acclaimed TV series on the air and their first motion picture about to smash the silver screen, the Avengers are truly some of earth’s mightiest heroes. The Avengers are in many ways Marvel’s best answer to DC’s Justice League and as good as the JLA’s magnificent tv series run was, Marvel’s Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes show is better by far and… Continue reading →

Game Informer says Mass Effect 3 is Perfect…ish.

So being among the gamer folks, I need something to save me in case I really REALLY run out of toilet paper; so I keep Game Informer handy. When I’m too lazy to sell my own games, I still trade and occasionally update my membership with Gamestop, a “benefit” of this membership is a subscription to Game Informer: a drowning game magazine from the 90′s that Gamestop bought out to contend with EB Games starting their own (better) magazine. With EB dead and Electronic Gaming… Continue reading →

Transformers: Prime – Targetmasters Continue to be awesome and Asian Exclusive…

Transformers: Prime after finally making it onto shelves was put to shame shortly after its year-too-late release by the Arms Micron subseries in somewhat direct competition with our partially reviled Robots in Disguise series of figures. Let’s talk about sentient weaponry, sprues, adhesives and paint application! After the cut!

Mass Effect 3: Hitler explains the problems with ME3′s Ending

First of all, this is a clip from the genius German film, Downfall. They are not talking about Mass Effect 3. However, the subtitles speak from my damn soul and I found myself claps until my hands hurt at the end. This video sums up a lot of player rage in an eloquent fashion while managing to be remarkably entertaining at the same time! Freakin’ genius. The guy deeply resents the concept the Indoctrination Theory because he feels that Bioware shouldn’t have dropped the ball… Continue reading →
